Chris Mallett

http://atptraining.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/ChrisMallett-150x150.jpgChris graduated from UC Davis with a BS in biochemistry and from USC with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. Chris’ main focus is in sports rehabilitation and working with golfers and swimmers. He’s a certified Pilates Instructor with BASI Pilates and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In 2005 Chris started ATP’s Aquatic Therapy program at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena, where he currently spends Tuesdays and Thursdays treating patients. Exercise is an important part of Chris’s daily activities and his weekly routine includes swimming, running, biking, Pilates and weight training. Chris’s passion is anything to do with water; he has worked as a PADI scuba diving instructor and still enjoys traveling and diving as much as possible. He is a South Pasadena resident and has two beautiful children, Amber and Ty. He and his wife Tracey opened ATP Training in 2002.

Laura Horn

She completed her undergraduate study at the State University of New York at Purchase, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Laura integrates manual therapy techniques with traditional therapeutic and Pilates-based exercise to tailor an individual program for each patient. She has completed advanced coursework in pelvic floor dysfunction, and her personal experience with two pregnancies offer a unique insight into pregnancy and post-partum issues. She is a part-time faculty member at Mount St. Mary’s College involved in research with students on the topics of Pilates and Women’s Health. Laura has a continued interest in the performing arts, as she combines her experience as a former professional dancer with her extensive physical therapy knowledge to rehabilitate dancers, actors, and musicians. She’s treated performers with local productions as well as various touring companies including Wicked, 9 to 5, A Chorus Line, The Producers, The Lion King, Kiss Me Kate, Contact, the Hubbard Street Dance Company and the Los Angeles Opera. Laura is a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine as well as the Orthopedic and Women’s Health Sections of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Betty Shaw

She graduated from PT school in 1985 and spent her first three years honing her skills in neuro rehab at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach. Since then she’s worked in hospitals and in the outpatient arena, focusing primarily on Orthopedics. In 2004 she graduated from an APTA credentialed Orthopedic Manual Therapy Residency Program and in 2006 became a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedics.

Lori Montgomery, DPT, CSCS

Lori is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA (National Strength & Conditioning Association) and especially enjoys working with patients with all levels of orthopedic conditions. She is very grateful to have a fulfilling job in a career that she loves, but is currently looking forward to her newest role outside of work as a first-time mommy.
